Physical Requirements

Lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 100 lbs., sitting for long periods of time, walking for long periods of time, standing for long periods of time, handling intermittent periods of high levels of stress.



Shift

Primarily 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.

This position may be expected to work outside these hours, if necessary, to accomplish tasks and objectives.



Job Summary

University of Kentucky Police Captains are responsible for providing the University community with a safe and secure environment in which to work, live and learn. The department is service oriented and specializes in meeting the needs of the campus’ diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

The major job responsibilities of the Support Services Police Captain include division leadership, support services, communication and compliance, police services, and human and capital resource leadership.

Police Captains shall positively interact, enhance relations, and represent the University with local law enforcement and community partners.
