Process Technology Leader Glass Nonwovens Europe (m/f/d)

The position is located in Wertheim in Germany, unlimited contract, full-time.

The Process Technology Leader is responsible is to lead the Process Technology group which focuses on the development, optimization and implementation of improvements in process efficiency, product quality, and the cost of poor quality for Engineered Products nonwovens operations. The areas of operational and technical influence begin with the fiber quality acceptance and end with putting the product into the final package. This role will work closely with the Product Development and Operations teams to achieve departmental, divisional and corporate objectives in a collaborative environment across a broad range of technologies and processes. In this role management of four to six direct reports is required.

Your Tasks

  • Manage the Process Technology project portfolio with project prioritization, technical resource allocations and budget control to meet the business goals. Collaboration with the commercial, manufacturing and product technology teams is required for be successful
  • Lead the Process Technology team, manage direct reports, provide training and drive development of employees
  • Collaborate with portfolio management and product development departments to assist with new product scale-up and commercialization and address new process technology requirements as necessary
  • Optimize internal JM manufacturing processes via data-based approaches to process control, new equipment design, design modifications or SOP’s to decrease equipment downtime time, reduced capital investment and improve overall First Pass Yield
  • Conduct plant trials to evaluate new and optimized settings and related equipment; Trials include EP/TP preparation and submission, RACI chart, MOC documentation, budget control, coordination with Plant Ops team, equipment procurement, installation and trial operation and data collection
  • Commercialize new control approaches, or process equipment based on the results of these trials
  • Prepare final documentation covering assigned projects and issue an internal JM Research or Engineering report
  • Identify best practices in forming, drying/curing and winding technologies and implement across Nonwovens Plants
  • Trouble shoot manufacturing problems associated with internal manufacturing processes and provide technical support to Plant operations
  • Interface with product development department to ensure that process and product projects complement or enhance product quality
  • Support new product development to establish appropriate process settings required to meet the product performance and quality
  • Develop or assist with project scopes, specifications, schedules, and investment grade cost estimates for process related capital projects.
  • Ability to keep abreast of the latest technology trends and have the ability to apply new technologies to JM business problems where appropriate

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, manufacturing or material science engineering
  • minimum of 10 years’ experience in engineering/manufacturing management
  • Work experience in the Fiber Glass, Nonwovens or Paper industry preferred, or similar experience
  • Expert knowledge in field of scope
  • Project Management skills (Solid)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Mini Tab and Microsoft Project, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide complex and innovative solutions to process engineering problems (Solid)
  • People Management skills (Solid)
  • Ability to train, develop and motivate employees to assure operational flexibility and responsiveness, and increase technical knowledge (Solid)
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in German and English language (Solid)
  • Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally (Solid)
  • Ability to work both independently and in team environment (Solid)
  • Solid critical process thinking skills
  • Willingness for travelling
