Overview
Singer Equipment Company, one of the largest food service and equipment distributors in the US, is seeking a Product Data Specialist. The Product Data Specialist will assist the Product team by creating and maintaining product records through sourcing and maintaining vendor price lists, data sheets and integrating information into ERP. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented person with experience in sales, purchasing or customer service support roles. This person will gain an understanding of how systems, data and processes interact, while learning new programs and making an immediate impact on the business
Responsibilities
- Create new product records in ERP
- Source and update vendor price list and data sheets.
- Extract information from price lists and data sheets, compare to existing data and make changes as necessary.
- Obtain data from ERP, Excel, Qlik and other sources and build Ad-hoc reports.
- Triage, communicate and follow up on requests from shared mailbox.
- Create Excel, csv or text-based documents and import into ERP or other programs.
- Includes Price files, orders, special nets and Bill and Hold
- Cleanse Current Data for all codes (New and Old)
- Assist with integration of Hubspot and Setvi
- Assist with integration of our Product Information Management (PIM) tool and Middleware to include
- Mapping fields
- Generating reports
- Updating product data where required
Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities
- Write and understand Excel based formulas including Vlookups and pivot tables
- A functional understanding of product cost structures and unit of measurement and the capability to learn new software programs
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure; compute rate, ratio and percent; use whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Work in a disciplined, timely and objective manner and capable of following established policies, procedures and practices
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Plan and organize own activities; analyze and organize data; manage work time efficiently; follow procedures and policies; identify and solve problems; and manage multiple priorities.
- Report to work promptly and regularly; demonstrate the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
- Experience in distribution and/or food service-related business preferred.
- Two or more years’ experience in sales, purchasing or customer service preferred.
- Education equivalent to a High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

This position will require regular travel via a personal automobile which may result in long periods of sitting.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The Product Data Specialist will work in a normal office environment. There is rare overnight travel required (less than 5%) and specifically pertains to company events and training sessions.
