Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Process Team Member to join our Dover Alloy group in Dover, New Jersey. The work hours for this Afternoon shift position are Monday to Friday 2PM-10:30PM. Training on Days M-F 6:00A - 2:30P.

New Hire Starting Hourly Rate: $23.95; Rate After 12 Months: $26.43

Position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift.

JOB SUMMARY
The Process Team Member ensures that all heats are processed according to customer specifications.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles;
Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
Wear all required personal protective equipment;
Report all job-related illness and injuries. (Per employee handbook);
Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner;
Attend all EH&S training.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions

Read, understand and follow process instructions.
Process all heats to customer specification.
Clean molds using tube cleaner.
Set up mold tubes, install stools, hot tops vacuum and stage for use.
After melting operation is completed and cooled, number heat in proper sequence.
Perform knock down of tubes from mold racks.
Stage bar stock properly for transport to bar line knock out press.
Perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs on equipment in work area including the dust collection system.

Position requires use of a manipulator to maneuver and stand on tubes on end to be put in frames.

These tubes vary in size from 3” to 7 1/4” and weighs between 71 lbs. and greater than 300 lbs.

The lighter tubes can be manipulated up to 140 times a day.

The larger tubes (5 ½ to 7 1/4) can be moved up to 72 times per day.

There are team members available to give assistance as necessary.

Perform any other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Supervisor.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Other Skills/Abilities

Must function as a productive member of a self-directed work team and operate with minimum direction.
Must be able to read and understand digital scales and other simple weighing and measuring gauges and devices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  •  High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution;
  • No relocation benefit is offered for this position.  Candidates residing within a 50 miles radius of Dover NJ will only be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


 Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)


 Must be able to work flexible hours including night and weekends with little advanced notice;


 Able to focus attention for extended periods.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED


 Use of: Fork Truck, Hoppers and Drums/Pallets, Various hand tools, Specialized lifting devices, Computerized and Electronic Printers, Cut off saw, Weight / Measuring Scales, Overhead / jib cranes, Wheelabrator, Banding Equipment, Grinder / I-Brite Machine, Hammer, Chisels, Paddles, Calculator, Hand Stamp, CRT, Labels, Manipulator


 Frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling and twisting.  Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS


 Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
