Position Summary:

Working under the direction of managers and providers of our busy Department, the per diem quality specialist assists the population health/quality teams in auditing patient charts in support of documentation required for clinical quality and payer contracts. In addition, targeted outreach or follow up may be performed as directed. This role helps ensure accurate measurement of performance in quality and payer contracts.
  • Reviews charts for relevant information in support of performance in quality and payer contracts
  • Pulls appropriate documentation from patient and outside records in a timely manner
  • Accurately documents results and findings in appropriate tracking templates
  • Participate in meetings as required
  • Familiarity with patient medical charts and clinical/operational workflows, including ways to search EMR and obtain appropriate outside medical records
  • Assist in outreach and preventative screening workflows as directed
  • Perform outreach calls as directed following existing workflows
  • Assist with mailings and tracking of results as directed following existing workflows
  • EDUCATION: High school diploma/GED and a graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program.
  • EXPERIENCE: At least five years experience as a medical assistant in a primary or specialty care setting.
  • SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong oral, listening, and written communication skills.  Attention to detail and computer/EMR literacy and familiarity with entering data into Microsoft Excel.
  • Reads, understands and complies with all Standards of Conduct, JCAHO policies, CMS Pace Program Regulations and Standards, applicable State regulations and guidelines, ESP policies and procedures and all laws related to position responsibilities and employment at NeighborHealth;
  • Upholds procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of   all patient and employee information. 
  • Upholds safety policies, practices, and procedures including safety, fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics and material     handling, office/ergonomic safety and other employee safety measures.

Pay range

Starting at $19.96 up to $29.94 depending on experience.
