A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Customer Service Specialist,

This individual is responsible for answering incoming telephone and email inquiries while providing the highest level of customer service to both internal and external customers. The role includes offering backup support for submitting molecular diagnostic laboratory claims, following up with patients and providers, providing payers with requested or additional documentation, and securing the highest level of reimbursement. Primary duties involve responding to inquiries from patients, clinicians, insurance plans, and area sales managers, with a focus on assisting with insurance billing-related questions. The individual will educate callers on our reimbursement process, billing policies, and the need for required documentation for appeals. Additionally, they will respond promptly to email requests from patients, clinician offices, and area sales managers regarding reimbursement-related issues.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of three years of customer service experience, preferably in a call center environment
  • Minimum of two years of health insurance billing with experience in identifying and resolving claim issues
  • Experience collaborating with patients, providers, and insurance plans throughout the billing cycle
  • Experience researching and utilizing payor websites
  • Certification in Medical Billing and/or Coding or equivalent experience
  • Must demonstrate the ability to type 30 WPM with 90% or higher accuracy.

SCHEDULE

  • Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • <5% as needed for training and meetings.
