We are looking for a talented Civil Engineer to join our Roadway/Highway Design team. This opportunity can be based out of any of our Indiana offices. The ideal candidate for this role will be a Professional Engineer with experience working on LPA and/or INDOT roadway design projects. Lochmueller Group is a regional engineering consulting firm with an emphasis on infrastructure.  We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal. Our transportation design team offers a variety of services, but most of our work involves roadway and bridge design for various local public agencies and state DOT’s.

In this position, the candidate will:

  • Work on a variety of DOT and/or LPA roadway/highway projects.
  • Support project managers in the planning and execution of engineering projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and design for assigned projects.
  • Design complete projects or components of a project and prepares complete project documents.
  • Apply engineering techniques, methods, and design criteria to support project execution.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met.
  • Prepare and reviews project documentation, reports, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • May assign work to junior engineers, technicians, or administrative staff. 
  • May be involved in the mentorship and development of junior level staff.
  • May perform other duties associated with this role.

Qualifications for this role:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license. Lacking a PE, continued progression may be delayed.
  • 4-7 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
  • Proficiency with project scheduling tools and software.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid Driver's License
