Description
The Clayton County Health District is seeking to hire a highly qualified candidate for the position of Public Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurse 3. Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health populations. Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.
Job Responsibilities
Provides direct primary nursing care in a specialized Public Health program (Ryan White) to clients in Clayton County. Provides telephone nursing triage to access client’s need for further evaluation. Plays an integral role in the Quality Management Program as the Quality Care Coordinator for the Ryan White Program. Advocates for quality care in the implementation and coordination of services within the program and through other agencies/resources. Provides treatments, administers medications/ vaccines and provides preventive and maintenance care to patient/families consistent with care plan and/or physician treatment plan. Modifies client treatment plans as indicated by clients’ responses and conditions. Provides health education instruction and/or classes to individuals and families, for the promotion and maintenance of health. Coordinates program services with other service providers and community organizations to promote optimal implementation. Develops and sustains community partnerships.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate or Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing AND certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing AND Four years of nursing experience AND Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse AND Georgia license as a APRN AND current certification in specialty area AND CPR certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to applicants who in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications possess the following:
- 1-3 years’ experience in Public Health or (HIV, STI or Ryan White Program)
- Good communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Worked as a NP for at least 1 year
