Senior Corporate Employee Relations Advisor (Remote)

We are currently seeking a Senior Corporate Employee Relations Advisor to join our team. Engages strategically with business leaders and recommends courses of action for Employee Relations matters while serving the company culture to ensure employees are treated fairly.  Provides guidance and counsel to managers and employees at all levels with respect to federal, state, and local EEO and labor laws, ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures in accordance with relevant laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively and maintains strong working relationships with business leaders. Consults and provides guidance to ensure disciplinary actions and other sensitive employee matters are handled in a fair and consistent manner throughout the Company.  This includes advising on appropriate disciplinary action including coaching, counseling, and termination.  Prepares leaders for disciplinary conversations by drafting talking points and counseling documents.  May participate in escalated counseling meetings or terminations or serve as a witness.  
  • Serves as the main point of contact for employees when they have any concerns such as a dispute with their leadership or another employee, a complaint of discrimination or harassment. questions regarding any interpretation or application of the Employee Handbook. a work-related guideline. or any other Company program or initiative.
  • Conducts workplace investigations for complex, EEO, and/or sensitive employee relations situations such as allegations of discrimination, harassment, Title VII violations, retaliation, misconduct, hostile work environment. and termination determinations. Interfaces directly with government agencies and outside counsel as needed. 
  • Ensures equitable application of organization policies and procedures while applying sound knowledge of relevant employee relations and applicable state and federal compliance laws.
  • Enables leaders to achieve the organization’s business objectives while limiting or reducing liability exposure through process improvements, effective communications, and the effective use of HR best practices.
  • Serves as a liaison with the Legal team to address matters that may result in potential legal action. Collaborates with legal counsel and departments to prepare and respond to government agencies or attorneys representing an employee or former employee.  
  • Manages the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) reasonable accommodation process independently and leads the interactive process conversations.  In addition, acts as a resource to educate business leaders and employees on the interactive process including providing guidance on any supporting documentation that is required.
  • Maintains required Employee Relations documentation and files including intake and investigative notes, supporting documents. and final reports.  
  • Implements programs to enhance productivity and reduce liability through improved communications and human resource practices.  These include but are not limited to guidelines, performance management, employee counseling, employee and supervisory training, hiring processes. and corporate programs.  
  • Consults and provides support and guidance to corporate employees regarding benefits related issues or inquiries.  Serves as corporate contact for guiding employees in resolving escalated issues related to the benefits program.
  • Provides consultation, services. and training focusing on liability management on topics such as performance measurement and review, employee counseling, policy development and administration, and terminations. 
  • Analyzes and interprets exit interview feedback, summarizes findings, and makes recommendations to business leaders based on trends and concerns.  
  • Serves as a liaison between employees and other employees or their supervisors to facilitate effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Coordinates with business leader’s post-disaster or a significant weather event to communicate the status of all employees impacted and coordinates with Corporate Citizenship to provide resources as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a job related field is preferred.
  • Five to seven years of experience in a related field is required.
  • Strong knowledge of and the ability to apply local, federal and state employment and EEO laws regulations, ordinances and policies.
  • Principles, practices and procedures of human resources and organizational development, including methods and techniques of employee counseling, management and supervisory procedures and practices; applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, ordinances and policies, methods of improving productivity, efficiencies, and communications in the workplace. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain mutual comfort level while relating to a variety of personalities and emotions.  Prepares clear, concise, thorough and grammatically correct written reports and other documents. 
  • Demonstrates strong decision-making skills and discernment while handling complex Employee Relations matters. Exceptional problem-solving skills and able to deal with conflicts constructively.
  • Ability to identify and independently work through conflicts in a clear and diplomatic manner.
  • Be flexible in handling multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational awareness with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence business leaders and employees at all levels to resolve conflicts.
  • High degree of integrity, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive job-related information; work independently under limited supervision; and maintain effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills; ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment. 
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Microsoft software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

Insperity provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of pay for this role is $82,700 to $92,800
