Senior Events Coordinator - Hybrid
Overview
The Senior Events Coordinator is part of the Corporate department, which resides on the Events team and reports to the Internal Events Manager. As our Senior Events Coordinator, you will manage complex aspects of CIS events, including internal company-wide programs and conferences, as well as planning both small and large-scale virtual meetings and events. This position will lead larger scale conferences and drive the execution of these events across CIS.
This role will require working in-person from our Albany, NY office three to five days per month. Additional in-person support may be required, as the Events team necessitates it. This position is not eligible for travel coverage or reimbursement for in-person work.

Salary Range: $60,500 - $103,600 We offer a competitive total rewards package at the Center for Internet Security:- Base salary is determined on a number of factors including, but not limited to, education, experience and skills

What You'll Do
- Manage project plans for internal events, from initial idea to execution
- Manage, coordinate, and lead internal event projects, including areas of the Annual Full Staff Meeting, and manage event planning, hotel management, registration, budget organization, event setup, offsite needs, transportation, resource/vendor management, and event communications
- Maintain a working relationship with vendors and venues, as well as outreach to establish new vendors
- Manage Webex virtual events for internal meetings and conferences, including post event reports, calendar invites, PowerPoint presentations and surveys, and hosting rights
- Serve as a meeting planning subject-matter expert, leading planning meetings and project tracking
- Analyze event feedback and suggest improvements to processes, resources, etc. for continuous improvement
- Assist in mentoring teammates in vendor management, budget tracking, and other areas
- Work closely with internal resources to develop and maintain inventory of required materials
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Event Planning, Marketing, or a related field*
- 5+ years’ professional event planning experience
- Experience managing and maintaining external vendor and venue resources and relationships
- Ability to accommodate mission-based overnight travel as necessary; approximately 20-30% travel is required
- Experience using event management software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to successfully multi-task and manage time effectively
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, with focus on customer service and communication
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
It's a Plus if You Have:
- Project Management and industry recognized certifications are a plus (ex: Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), etc.)
- 10+ years’ event management experience
*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
