Solutions Architect, Workday
We are currently seeking a Solutions Architect, Workday to join our team. This position is responsible for delivering consistent, robust, maintainable, standards conformant Workday architecture and solutions that fulfill business requirements. This position works collaboratively with development teams to create and deliver such solutions. This role also ensures all produced work aligns with Department’s strategic vision. Participates in the formulation and communication of Workday strategies.
Responsibilities
- Participates in discussions with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and domain experts to determine requirements and model Workday solutions.
- Champions Workday Architecture, Patterns, and Guidance.
- Provides technical leadership and guidance on the Workday platform.
- Uses empirical data to assess architectural requirements/constraints such as security, scalability, performance, availability, and redundancy. Ensures requirements can be met with minimal upfront design at an acceptable cost and with acceptable tradeoffs.
- Ensures physical and logical designs fit within our Workday architectural framework and conforms to accepted architectural standards.
- Identifies necessary interactions with other applications/services and defines Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Formulates and evolves pattern-based Workday designs appropriate for the solution and with a clear separation of concerns. Grows and evolves the design, ensuring the integrity of the design is maintained over the course of a project.
- Communicates and champions the design across the team and fosters an environment of shared goals, collective ownership, and collaboration in building a design strategy.
- Coaches and mentors’ developers on the team on Workday solution/implementation/integration approaches and techniques.
- Brings consensus amongst the development team on Workday design and implementation strategy.
- Provides guidance on solution design and integration strategies, in the form of standards documentation, examples, training, and consultancy.
- Publishes technical documentation such as high-level design, logical diagrams, and support documentation based on need and value.
- Writes code and critiques developers’ code.
- Ensures Workday designs and implementations fulfill not only functional needs but also nonfunctional needs such as security, maintainability, extensibility, testability, stability, configurability, and supportability.
- Evaluates and adopts third party connectors as appropriate.
- Keeps an eye out for Workday feature releases and helps in coming up with a strategy for a smoother upgrade.
- Participates in technical and leadership trainings as needed and/or recommended by the supervisor.
- Works with the teams designated to implement and improve build and deployment practices.
- Possesses leadership skills needed to guide developers in delivering solutions that conforms to Workday architecture and design.
- Works with Product Owners in ascertaining roadmap feasibility; delivers Workday solutions based on roadmap that adheres to given constraints with focus on quality and time-to-market.
- Assists in identifying, developing, and coordinating on-going release management activities in support of Workday’s current release cycles.
- Understands and ensures security and data privacy standards.
- Assists in the accomplishment of Insperity Company goals.
- Helps other employees to accomplish Insperity Company goals.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by department supervisor.
- Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
- Seven plus years of professional work experience in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
- Experience in Workday platform is required.
- Workday Certifications are highly desired.
- Broad knowledge of software development practices and procedures.
- Business knowledge of HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Compensation.
- Experience working with Workday modules such as HCM, Time Tracking, Payroll, and Security.
- Knowledge of Workday implementation/integration tools (Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Report Writer, and iLoad).
- Experience with Web Services, APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST, and WS standards), and RaaS.
- Experience with Workday Studio, Orchestrate Builder.
- Experience with Workday Extend is a plus.
- Experience with Prism, Reporting, BIRT is a plus.
- Strong teamwork and collaborative skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms using diagrams and presentations as needed.
- Communicates tactfully and effectively and maintains positive and effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.
- Possesses a strong customer service attitude.
