About the role:

CHANEL is looking for a Specialist of Merchandising Coordination to join our Merchandising Point of Sale Team in New York.  This role will support the Merchandising Strategy team to achieve flawless merchandising experiences at all Points of Sale in the U.S. Region. Reporting to the Specialist of Permanent Merchandising, this role will project manage all Point of Sale initiatives and support ongoing administrative and coordination needs. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with the broader Retail Store Environment team as well as internally with Production, Marketing, and Retail teams.

The Manager, Merchandising Coordination will have a direct impact on CHANEL’s image at point of sale for Fragrance and Beauty. This role will be integral to supporting merchandising initiatives and in-store experiences while also being a close collaborator with our production and marketing partners to support strategic goals.

What impact you can create at CHANEL:

  • Project Management + Administrative Support: Provide project management support for all Retail Store Environment point of sale initiatives (merchandising roll-outs, open-sell updates, etc). Provide support through managing communication flow internally and externally. Assist in creating briefs, project timelines, and ensuring alignment during strategy kickoff meetings. Conduct weekly status meetings, assist with approvals and key deadlines, and overall organization of deliverables
  • Job Requests and Production Briefs: Submit and manage Merchandising & Open Sell  job requests and production briefs, including gathering global briefs, floorplans, photos, and final deliverables (approvals, shop drawings, specs, planograms). Create initial production briefs, item numbers, and follow through on quote requests, bids, and connecting with internal teams
  • Merchandising and Inventory Management: Manage counter care, ensure guideline adherence, support Yoobic mission creation and catalog updates, maintain the monthly visual calendar, relocation sheet, and master item catalog. Assist with Open-sell updates and validate schematics
  • System and Data Management: Maintain the project calendar, fulfill administrative requests via Smartsheet and Yoobic into Merch DB, support the update of the Display Catalog, and synchronize all systems
  • Field Support & Communication: Manage RSE communication to field in coordination with Sales Ops for all project updates, Guidelines, launch brief, visual display calendars via teams, Field Comm, Yoobic and Inside Beauty. Oversee the ad-hoc requests, manage punch list orders and closeouts for merchandising initiatives and CAPEX projects

  • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities, with proficiency in project management, creating workflows, and driving the implementation of project management tools
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to support team organization, processes, and file management.
  • Displays learning agility and ability to creatively problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to process information quickly and draw conclusions
  • Strong computer skills necessary: all Microsoft Office programs a must; Smartsheet a plus

Position Logistics:

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, managing multiple projects with different scope/size
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of three days in-person office presence at the designated location/office

Compensation:

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,500 through $90,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
