Position Purpose:
Process specialty feed streams that are unable to be processed in any other part of the facility in the natural state in which they were received. Feed drums, totes, and cylinders to the incinerator through direct inject nozzles to the kiln and secondary combustion chamber(SCC). Document and further code items that have been fed through the specialty feed boxes for final destruction and tracking.

Primary Duties/responsibilities:
  • Ability to perform all duties of a Specialty Feed Operator I & II
  • Must be able to Operate the Glovebox, Totebox, and the Cylinder feed box
  • Assist Incinerator Operator with outside tasks such as:
    • Swapping kiln ash drums
    • Blowing back and unplugging feed lines and nozzles
    • Pulling water from sumps
    • Making valve lineups and isolations
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID's
  • Will be required to assist in Root Cause Analysis to determine equipment failures.
  • Train or assist in the training, development, and sign-off of other operators within this group.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • No unsatisfactory work performance issues and must be qualified in current position (6) months or more
  • Currently holding or previously held a position which by definition of task and/or area required person to be trained to level of hazardous waste operator
  • Minimum two to three years process operations experience preferred
  • Minimum six months heavy equipment operations preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
  • Must be able to pass a respirator fit test
  • Must be able to perform the job requirements and pass a verbal and/or written skill/proficiency test for the position within a reasonable orientation/training period set by Supervisor.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good math aptitude.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training:
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER training
