Summary of Position

As a Senior Test Engineer at STARZ, you will play a critical role in the development and deployment of our streaming application for iOS and tvOS. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test strategies to ensure our users enjoy a seamless and high-quality experience. This role requires a deep understanding of the iOS ecosystem, proficiency with Xcode, and a strong background in testing complex, high-performance applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans for STARZ's streaming application on iOS and tvOS platforms.
  • Lead the testing efforts, ensuring the application meets high standards of performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to identify and resolve issues early in the development cycle.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Xcode and other relevant tools.
  • Analyze and report on test results, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations to the development team.
  • Mentor and guide junior test engineers, sharing best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in iOS/tvOS testing and implement new techniques to enhance testing efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Test Engineer, with at least 2 years dedicated to testing on iOS/tvOS using Xcode.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Xcode and related testing tools.
    • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., XCTest, Xcode Cloud).
    • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
    • Solid understanding of iOS/tvOS architecture and Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead testing initiatives and mentor junior engineers.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with streaming applications or media content delivery platforms
  • Knowledge of network protocols, video codecs, and DRM technologies
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira

Compensation

$109,000 – $172,400
