We are looking for a highly motivated Staff NGS Application Manager to join our team!

Are you ready to lead the charge in revolutionizing next generation sequencing (“NGS”) applications? We are seeking a driven and innovative NGS Application Manager to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Applications, you will play a pivotal role in developing, launching, and deploying cutting-edge NGS applications.

How You’ll Contribute

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate seamlessly with R&D teams to drive the development of new NGS applications. Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and support teams to address product issues and ensure high customer satisfaction
• Liaison Between R&D and Commercial Teams: Act as the primary interface to ensure alignment between technical advancements and commercial strategies
• Owner of Application Projects: Take full ownership of execution from inception to delivery, ensuring that product goals are met and results are effectively communicated to stakeholders and customers
• Market Insights and Strategy: Regularly engage with the commercial team and customers to understand market needs, identify opportunities, assess competitive landscapes, and contribute to strategic decision-making
• Content Development: Work with marketing team to develop compelling application notes and application collateral that showcase the unique features and benefits of Ultima’s NGS applications

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• PhD or equivalent advanced degree in computational biology, molecular biology, or related field is required. Minimum of 5+ years in R&D roles, excluding PhD training
• Deep understanding of and hands-on experience with genomic technologies, sequencing workflows, and their applications
• Outstanding leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, preferably experience in multi-disciplinary R&D teams and collaboration with commercial and sales functions. Excellent communication and presentation abilities are essential
• A hands-on, proactive approach with a high-energy and positive demeanor that drives results
• Direct involvement in developing NGS applications such as variant calling, DNA methylation analysis, single-cell sequencing, and cfDNA analysis is preferred
• Hands-on experience in developing clinical-grade NGS applications, particularly in oncology or other relevant fields is preferred
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%

At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $135,000 and $170,000, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.  Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.  This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; paid holidays; paid time off; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
