Preferred Education/Experience

Mother is willing to teach all necessary skills. It is good skills practice for nursing students or those interested in the medical field. He requires breathing treatments, suctioning, vest therapy, cough assist, PRN supplemental oxygen, heart rate and oxygen saturation are monitored with a pulse oximeter, has a feeding tube for feedings and medications. You must be willing to communicate with him and keep him entertained. He likes to play games, crafts, and watching TV.

Job Summary


You must be a current UK student to apply to this position. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with UK.

Caregiver for a medically fragile 15 year old. He has CP, seizures, respiratory issues and neuro storms. He is non verbal but communicates his wants and needs with communication devices. He is knowledgeable about his care. He is totally dependent for all care. He is very sweet and caring. He has no aggressive behavior.

Non smoker. No strongly scented lotions or perfumes.

Hours/days can be flexible. Primarily need hours from noon to 4-5 pm. No holidays or weekend are required.
Start date is flexible.



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

1. Must like and want to interact with someone with different abilities.
2. CPR and First Aid
3. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
4. He has an electron lift but some lifting is still required when changing and dressing him. He weighs about 90lbs.
