Student Success Coordinator
As a student success coordinator, you will liaise between the dean of student success and other SCAD leaders, including for the dissemination of key reports, coordination of meetings and events, and responding to telephone and walk-in inquiries. You will provide administrative support to the dean (e.g., calendar management, conduct research on background information for meetings, etc.) and gather information for various reports and expense invoices. You will assist the dean with daily situations involving students, faculty, and staff to determine the correct response. You will also schedule critical meetings for the dean, manage e-commerce submissions, and support the student success department as needed.
In this role, you will manage the Student Success Center's reception area, address urgent matters, and offer direct support where needed. You will oversee the hiring and onboarding process of work-study students and student assistant staff, identify additional opportunities to improve student experiences within the Student Success Center, and communicate changes to all staff. You will provide support at university events related to recruitment or orientation and foster positive relationships within the SCAD community and external guests. You will also communicate with faculty regarding student medical emergencies that have resulted in missed classes.
As a coordinator, you will manage all aspects of club and Inter-club Council (ICC) processes, policies, and programs. You will respond to inquiries about student clubs and conduct reports and assessments related to student involvement programming. You will also meet with club leaders to discuss, encourage, and implement new clubs, ensuring that they follow safety standards and university policies/procedures.
In this role, you will oversee daily housing operations, including room changes and cancellation requests, and respond to student and family questions via email, phone calls, or in person. You will support the director of residence life in all aspects of the student housing assignment process at each SCAD location and off-campus and summer programs. You will be responsible for the review and submission of all facility work orders from residents, following up as appropriate. You will also assess and recommend changes for housing and residence life processes.
The successful candidate should have a strong background in working with diverse populations, a demonstrated understanding of customer service, and knowledge of information management systems and web-based technology. They should be able to maintain a student-centered focus and pay close attention to their presentation through dress and conduct. Strong communication, presentation, organization, and project management skills are necessary to thrive in this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a strong work history in relevant field
- At least two years’ experience in student activities within a university setting
- Experience using Banner for maintenance of budgets
- Knowledge of information management systems and web-based technology
Travel required:
- Less than 10%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
