Compensation
Substitute Teacher: $18.10 per hour

Primary Responsibilities
- Actively engage with youth in classroom environment
- Assist education staff members in managing student behaviors
- Assist teachers in preparation and implementation of curriculum
- Council youth in matters of personal conduct, hygiene, appearance, safety, social skills, academics, and decision making
- Proactively prevent or manage a crisis situation in a therapeutic manner
- Fulfill other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Theology, Social Work
- Ability to build rapport with youth based on healthy boundaries, effective communication and mutual respect
- Ability to demonstrate sensitivity, compassion, patience, and active listening
- Ability to effectively work with individuals from a diverse array of cultural backgrounds, beliefs, customs, and lifestyles
- Ability to physically restrain if required
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working with youth in professional or volunteer capacity
