Job Summary
The Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) is seeking a highly motivated, professional Technical Project Specialist IV to contribute to the variety of perspectives and excellence of our department and to assist the faculty and staff of our fast-paced research center. The CCTS supports campus research professionals to ensure they are able to meet their research goals and ultimately improve the health of our communities and populations. Our vision is to foster a community that guides and transforms our approaches to healthcare, education, research and community partnerships. Since its inception in 2006, the CCTS has invested millions of dollars into research funding and trainee support at the University of Kentucky through its commitment to funding innovative, early stage translational research. The CCTS’s vision is to catalyze clinical and translational discoveries through an integrated and transformative research environment targeting improved health, with emphasis on underserved populations in Kentucky. In support of that vision, the Technical Project Specialist IV role will serve as a team member of the CCTS Biomedical Informatics Core
Responsibilities for this position include leading a team of programmers and technology managers for the Center for Clinical & Translational Science. The employee will serve as a member of the CCTS leadership team and is the liaison between team members and UK officials and they will participate in planning, policy recommendations and problem resolution. They will represent CCTS on enterprise boards, councils, and committees and cultivate relationships with UK and UKHC ITS, Office of Legal Counsel, and research department leaders for all academic units, and community partners.
Successful candidates will manage project budgets, tracks expenses and ensures financial resources are used effectively. They will develop staff through coaching and positive/negative feedback and ensure staff follow UK policies and procedures as well as both federal and state regulations. The employee will analyze services utilized, identify key themes and translate findings into actionable recommendations for improvement and communicate insights through presentations, reports and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.
The CCTS is dedicated to broadening the range of perspectives within our staff and faculty and aims to build a team with an extensive spectrum of skills and experiences.
