The Transitional Care Unit assists with decompressing overcrowded areas within the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and diagnostic/interventional radiology as well as evaluating patients from outside facilities for appropriate level of care placement and direct admits from clinic, office, or home. As a part of this unit, the RN serves as an important component of the multi-disciplinary team. This team is responsible for caring for and treating a variety of patients.
