Professor, Graphic Design

In this position, you will use your design and costume skills to lead production design and themed entertainment design classes. Our strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders ensure efficient, compliant designs that align with our company’s vision and meet market demands.What you’ll do<ul><li>Technical Leadership: Assume hands-on leadership in the conceptualization, design, and validation of advanced digital and power electronic systems, primarily focusing on ECUs. </li><li>Safety &amp; Compliance: Lead the electronic hardware design team to ensure all products comply with safety standards, possessing familiarity or certifications in European CE standards or other globally recognized safety certifications. </li><li>Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee products from inception to market launch, ensuring designs are efficient, compliant, and in line with company and industry standards. </li><li>Team Development &amp; Mentorship: Foster a culture of innovation, compliance, and technical excellence within the electrical hardware design team. </li><li>Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with software, mechanical, and other technical teams to ensure seamless integration of electronic components in broader product designs. </li><li>Strategic Insight &amp; Innovation: Drive initiatives to adopt new technologies, methodologies, and tools in the electrical design domain. </li><li>Vendor &amp; Partnership Management: Engage with component suppliers, PCB manufacturers, and other industry stakeholders to facilitatetimely project completions and achieve cost efficiencies. </li><li>Upto 25% travel.</li></ul>What you’ll need<ul><li>Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field. </li></ul><ul><li>12+ years in the electrical hardware design domain, with a special focus on digital and power electronics, and at least 5 years in a leadership or directorial capacity. </li><li>Profound expertise in PCB design for digital and power electronics. </li><li>Demonstrable experience or certifications in safety standards, preferably European CE standards. </li><li>A hands-on, proactive approach to electronic challenges. </li><li>Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to inspire and guide teams. </li><li>Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Experience in project management and meeting stringent timelines. </li><li>Prior achievements or contributions in the realm of electrical hardware design, such as patents, publications, or groundbreaking product developments, is desirable.</li></ul>Our Environment<ul><li>Up to25% of travel may be required. The Chair of Service Design is a visionary leader who will lend knowledge and experience to guide students as they grow into the next generation of luminaries in service design.&nbsp;The candidate should have a flair for the creative and should demonstrate spectacular graphic and idea visualization abilities. Highly motivated and knowledgeable, the candidate is a design strategist with a solid track record of translating deep insights into innovative services, product-service systems, interactions, and user experiences for well-known brands. Strong project management skills are essential.&nbsp;Provides vision, leadership and supervision for the department; builds substantial reputation for the quality of the department; creates a strong sense of collegiality within the department and of shared responsibility for the department’s goals; works with faculty on curriculum development, assessment activities and policy/procedure requirements and implementation, including course schedules and facility use; conducts classroom observations and annual faculty performance evaluations , as well as ensuring mentoring and faculty development opportunities; assists in hiring of faculty; makes decisions on student academic matters; assists in the recruitment of students, review of graduate student applications and placement of students in internships and careers; and oversees departmental budget. The department chair teaches courses, as determined by the number of contact hours listed in the employment agreement.The chair maintains a visible onsite presence, oversees and guides the work of department faculty and staff, supports and mentors students, and collaborates with academic leaders, faculty and support staff across departments and university locations.
